  1. I was wondering if a patient needed an upper molar implant if they could have the option of doing a full zircoia implant and by-pass the titanium kind? I am worried about long-term effects of titanium in the blood. Great blog…VERY informative and comprehensive

    Thanks!

    • Hi Steve,

Keep in mind that Titanium has been in use since the mid 1960’s. It has a very long track record of success and literature to support its safety. Zirconia is a good material but it is does not have long-term data to support its use yet. I wouldnt put it in my own mouth yet and possibly not ever. Time will tell.

I think we talked on another post too???
